what a ride it was!

One news(can't tell it's good or bad) from my side is
that i've got a new name "srini"..though very few ppl
call me by that name..the number forms a considerable
part of the whole lot of ppl who call me by
name(s)..Coming to the actual content i thought of
sharin with u all..,
it was around 11:30 on saturday afternoon and we
were(11 of us) asked to assemble at our ofice building
..We were supposed to go to a place some 15 kms from
this place.By the time all of them arrived and some
logistics problems got resolved,it was 12:45 and the
sun is shining very bright on top over our heads..we
got into the car(it was a ford ikon make)..
We were five in the car carefully following the taxi
as we are not so sure of the route to our
destination.Swami,Shesha,Venky,Bala and me(in the
order.....order??)were all sitting in silence eagerly
waiting for someone to start a conversation.Swamy took
the lead to break the silence..
He said "we shall listen to some music"..managing the
steering with a single hand he put a cd into his mp3
player and connected it to a cassette which he in turn
put in his car stereo.. (new technology..i thought..)
then a song begin to play.it's a slow song..but i
couldn't figure out the language in which the song was
sung..so i didn't pay much concentration to the song..
But still the melody was good that i began to slightly
hum the song as it came to an end..it reminded me of
one of rehman's numbers.."vennela" song from
premadesam..
After the song got over,swamy told that it was his own
song.."own song"?? he revealed that he himself wrote
the lyrics and composed the song..i didn't beleive
him, thinking that it's very tough to get that
recording clarity even if u cud compose..he told he
got the song recorded in one of the bangalore's best
recording studio..and moreover the song was sung by
none other than our"vodka"(bitsian fame..)..All this
to satisfy his hobby..listening to all this,i was
almost jumping like a baby in the back seat..we asked
him more details about how it all happened..and he
relished his memories while he was narrating the whole
experience..It was really great to hear from him..

Then we moved on to discussing on various
topics..these days it's becomin difficult to pass a
laccha session without havin a piece of "cricket" in
it.be it the ashes,ganguly-chappell issue or dravid's
poor form...Our actual concentration was on the last
one..Dravid..We passed a few comments on
dravid..mostly supporting him..but Swamy was against
all of us..in fact against Dravid itself..seems he
used to be a good friend of dravid in his intial days
of international cricket and also helped him in many
ways..but somehow he(swamy) befriended him due to some
reasons..i was taken aback by surprise again..but
controlled myself as i'm very new to this group and my
emotions might have some effect on my fate..actually
cudn't beleive i'm sitting with someone who
be-friended RAHUL DRAVID!

actually we were all going to play a cricket match
against HP and all these happened on the way..I was
still in a state of wonder,awe and amazement when i
was asked to bat at no.2.So no wonder i got out for a
duck..but still the day was filled with surprises and
shocks...At the end of day,it was a great experience
and i'm lookin forward to have more of them..
